Packing
You’ll be happy to know that packing for Singapore can be a relatively simple affair. Warm-weather attire is acceptable (and required if you’re going to spend much time exploring outside).
Light, breathable clothing is recommended, as is a hat for the sunny days. The rainy season can see short but regular downpours, so it’s a good idea to have an umbrella handy, although they can be purchased cheaply anywhere in Singapore.
Casual attire is acceptable pretty much everywhere, so make sure you’ve packed your shorts, short-sleeved shirts and sandals. Only if you’re planning an outing to a posh restaurant or nightclub do you need to get out trousers and a pair of shoes. Ladies get even more leeway, with shorts or a skirt and sandals acceptable just about everywhere, unless your sightseeing plans include a trip to a religious temple, a fancy restaurant or bar.
And to make things even easier, whatever you forget will without a doubt be available in Singapore. Whether it’s a toothbrush, electrical plug adaptor or a hat to keep the sun off your head, you’ll find you can get it all, either at Changi Airport or in town.
