Singapore’s Changi Airport is a breeze to get around in and to travel to and from. The three main terminals are all interconnected, while there are multiple options for the short trip into town.
Passengers transferring between Terminals 1, 2 and 3 should expect to take a minimum of about 60 minutes from gate to gate. Estimated transfer times between the Budget Terminal and Terminals 1, 2 or 3 are as follows:
- Terminal 1 gate C26 to Budget Terminal: 49mins–77mins
- Terminal 1 gate D40 to Budget Terminal: 35mins–60mins
- Terminal 2 gate E20 to Budget Terminal: 30mins–55mins
- Terminal 2 gate F60 to Budget Terminal: 38mins–63mins
- Terminal 3 gate A21 to Budget Terminal: 51mins–82mins
- Terminal 3 gate B5 to Budget Terminal: 37mins–65mins
The trip from Changi Airport into Singapore’s central business district takes just under 30 minutes. Visitors can choose between taxis, public buses, airport shuttles or the MRT (subway). Costs range from S$2 to S$3 for bus and MRT to S$18 to S$30 for taxis. The airport shuttle costs S$9 per adult.
Flight Transfer Procedures
- If you HAVE a Boarding Pass of your Connecting Flight
- Check your flight number at the Flight information Displays for the departure gate and time.
- Gate closes 10 minutes before departure time.
- If you DO NOT HAVE a Boarding Pass of your Connecting Flight
- Proceed to the Terminal where your connecting flight will depart. Check in at ANY Transfer Lounge in the Terminal except for the following airlines:

- Swiss International Airlines Transfer C Lounge, Terminal 1
- Northwest Airlines Transfer D Lounge, Terminal 1
- Etihad Airways, Lufthansa German Airlines, Malaysia Airlines, Philippines Airlines Transfer E Lounge, Terminal 2
- China Eastern, Jet Airways, United Airlines Transfer B Lounge, Terminal 3
Terminals 1, 2 and 3 are connected by Skytrains, which operate in both the public and transit areas. Skytrains run from 5:00am to 2:30am, and average wait times for a train are 1–3 minutes. Time between terminals on the Skytrain is approximately 1–4 minutes.
There are also travellators linking the transit areas of all three terminals, and free shuttle buses running in the public areas. The Budget Terminal is connected to Terminal 2 via a free shuttle service that takes approximately 5–10 minutes.

- Transfer passengers connecting to or from the above budget airlines must clear Arrival Immigration, collect their baggage (if any) and clear Customs for their connecting flight at the relevant Terminal.
- * For Cebu Pacific and Tiger Airways transfer passengers, please proceed to the Budget Terminal for your connecting flight. To get to the Budget Terminal, please take the free shuttle service at Terminal 2, Basement 1.

Note: SilkAir will continue to depart from Terminal 2.
